If you were to reach for a band above and behind you with your right hand, then pull the band across your body towards your left hip, you would perform a sideways rotational flexion. If you did that in the gym it would be called a fly. This is one of only two flexion patterns. It is the the pattern of the downswing of golf, in which case the side bending precedes the turning part. You learning this movement is the purpose of this page.
