The fundamental of the cell are such that it is chemically impossible to process beyond a certain threshold. Above that threshold, it is not a question of if they will compensate, but how. Diabetes is simply the cells closing their mouth to more sugar via receptor down regulation or slowing of insulin production.
The difficulty here is the fact that the cell is protecting itself from too much sugar but what is dangerous is having too little sugar. The solution is to train the cell to function with minimal sugar on the one hand and on the other hand train the cell to process much more sugar. The former is achieved via posture and endurance training, and the latter by training the strength part of excitability.
